POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ – The Point Pleasant Elks Lodge 1698 recently announced that their annual fluke tournament would be making its return this year after being canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Registration is currently underway for this year's tournament, and anglers from all over head down to partake in one of the area's tournaments.
The tournament has two divisions, kayak, and powerboat. Registration for the kayak division is $50 by July 21 and $65 after, while registration for the powerboat division is $100 per boat for up to four anglers by July 21, or $150 after with an additional $10 per person for boats with more than four fishermen.
Cash prizes will be offered for the biggest fluke caught, with $4,500 going to the fisherman who catches the heaviest fluke.
There will be a captain's meeting the night before at the Point Pleasant Elks Lodge for the powerboat division and Fisherman Supply for the kayak division. The entrants will pick up the tournament packets before heading out into Manasquan Inlet early the next morning.
