The Johnston Community School District is proud to join the millions who are commemorating African American freedom on Juneteenth (June 19) and celebrating the achievements of Black Americans, including those of our Black students, educators, administrators and staff.
In this short video, Louis Fountain, JCSD Director of Equity, Inclusion & Belonging, along with JMS 9th grader Prestige Taylor, explain the importance of Juneteenth and the impact it had on public education.
