NORRISTOWN, PA — Even as the pandemic dwindles throughout the region into the early summer, Montgomery County has shown exceptional numbers. The county's percent positivity rate is now down to a comparatively microscopic 0.49 percent, once again reaching the lowest mark of the past 15 months. The drop comes just under a month after the county sat at 2.47 percent, at the start of June. These numbers are better than Montgomery County's neighbors, which have also seen the pandemic drastically decline this spring into summer, including Bucks (0.6 percent), Chester (0.9 percent), Philadelphia (1.1 percent), and Delaware (0.9 percent). Authorities continue to urge residents to get the vaccine if they have not yet done so. Thus far, 47.4 percent of Montgomery County's eligible 12 and older population is fully vaccinated. Other numbers in Montgomery County also remain strong, including total number of confirmed cases over the past week, which dropped from 57 to 27. The average daily hospitalizations due to COVID-19 symptoms, meanwhile, fell from 26 to 17. To register for a vaccine in Montgomery County and to learn more, see here.
