LIVERMORE, CA — A resident of the unincorporated Livermore area told KTVU that they felt a firework explode prior to a wildfire this weekend. It was one of a few fires reported in or near Livermore in recent days. Bob Stear told the station that the area is known for sideshows and some 100 cars were gathered in the area of Del Valle Road Saturday night. There was also a fireworks show, which set off a small fire ultimately contained at a quarter-acre, KTVU reported. The fire occurred near the area where the SCU Lightning Complex fires burned last year. Deputies told cars to leave, and skid marks and leftover fireworks could be found in the area the next morning, KTVU reported. Two fires occurred in Livermore the next day, Sunday evening. The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department said it quickly extinguished a small vegetation fire reported around 5 p.m. near the block of 900 Murrieta Boulevard. No buildings were threatened, no injuries were reported and the cause remains unknown. Hours later, the Alameda County Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire near Mines and Del Valle roads around 9 p.m., according to smartphone app PulsePoint. Read more from KTVU.
