Description
ELMHURST, IL — A man was seen trespassing on the Lincoln Elementary School demolition site early Thursday evening, according to a police report.
Security footage showed the man entering the semi-demolished building at 565 Fairfield Ave., police said. The trespassing occurred from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The contractor told officers he was positive he locked the gate, but the gate's padlocks and chains were not damaged, police said. Nothing appeared to be missing from the site.
The suspect was described as white, 30 years old, having black hair, carrying a digital camera, and wearing eyeglasses, a black shirt, dark pants, black boots and a dark backpack.
If the man is identified, he would be given a no-trespass notice, police said.
The Lincoln site contains two webcams to document the project for the public.
After crews finish the demolition, they plan to start building a new school, a project that is expected to last through next summer.
