BURNSVILLE, MN — Burnsville residents will be able to help the city government decide how to spend $8 million in American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds, the city said.
The city has until December 2026 to spend the funds, which can only be used in the following areas, as limited by the U.S. Treasury Department:
Respond to the public health emergencyLost revenue recoveryInvestments in water, sewer, and broadbandPremium pay for eligible workersCity Council will take different factors into consideration when deciding how to spend the funds, including community feedback, guidance from the U.S. Treasury, existing funds/programs and access to previous funding/programs, the city said.
Burnsville residents are encouraged to fill out a survey to let city officials know which options they believe the funds should be used for.
