MARIETTA, GA — A Marietta teen and "known identified gang member" is wanted on murder charges in connection with the June 15 killing of Norval Bailey, Marietta police said. Marietta Police Department investigators named Donald Bannister, 17, of Marietta — also known as Lil Ghost — as the suspected shooter in Bailey's death, which happened around 9 p.m. on Massachusetts Avenue June 15. On that evening, Marietta Police and Marietta Fire responded to reports of a person shot. Upon arrival, Bailey, who was 30 at the time of his death, was lying in the street unresponsive and bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound, police said. He was treated at the scene and transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:32 p.m., according to a news release from the MPD. Sherman Johnson, 30, was already arrested June 16 in connection with the incident. He was charged with tampering with evidence and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where he remains without bond, according to jail records. MPD officials said Bannister is a "known identified gang member and should be considered armed and dangerous." Police urge the public not to have direct contact with him, but to call 911 immediately if you know where he is located. A spokesperson for MPD said investigators also identified a third suspect, but are not releasing their name or photo at this time. Investigators also found the getaway vehicle and the gun used to shoot Bailey. The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information related to this shooting is asked to call Marietta Police Detective Jenelle Parker at 770-794-5398, Agent Paul Reynolds at 770-794-5583, or Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta at 404-577-8477 if you wish to remain anonymous.
