Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 06/28/2021 211781443 Preliminary Information: On 6/27/21, around 6:43 pm, officers responded to the location of 1977 Martin Luther King JR. Dr. in reference to a fatal traffic collision. Upon arrival, officers located multiple vehicles involved in the collision. One male passenger involved in the collision was declared deceased on scene by responding EMS services. The drivers involved had complaints of injuries and were transported to the hospital in stable condition. Preliminary investigation indicates a male driver was operating a 2010 Infiniti G37 on I-20 East and exited onto the MLK exit ramp. The driver continued down the ramp failing to stop at the stop sign on Martin Luther Jr. Drive when he was struck by a 2015 Buick Enclave. As a result, the Buick Enclave struck a 2010 Honda Insight and a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer also struck the Infiniti. A male passenger occupying the Infiniti was ejected from the vehicle and died on scene. The Accident Investigations Unit is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. Charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.   Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and can change as the investigation progresses and new information comes to light.
