WINCHESTER, MA —A man pleaded guilty to robbing and assaulting a federal postal worker and possessing cocaine Monday in a Boston Federal Court.
Raymond Acevedo, 29, of Winchester, pleaded guilty to one count of robbing a federal postal worker, one count of assaulting a federal postal worker and one count of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
On October 24, 2019, a postal worker was trying to deliver a package that was sent from Puerto Rico to an address in Dorchester. When he couldn't find the person, he walked back to his van, but was attacked by Acevedo who took the package and started a fight between the two.
Police soon arrived and arrested Acevedo, charging him with robbery and aggravated assault on the postal worker. The postal worker was taken to the hospital for his injuries.
When police opened the package the next day, they found approximately 1.390 kilograms of cocaine.
Acevedo is scheduled for sentencing on October 26, 2021.
