Description
(To avoid wasting anyone's time, please know we are all fully vaccinated and ask you to be as well. Yay science!) Hello fellow musicians! We are an established local band that just released our third album in 2020. We are itching to get gig ready! Our beloved lead guitarist of the past ten years has decided she would rather focus on her family, and of course we understand, so here we are... I am WAY INTO finding another woman/non-binary person to play lead guitar, but the right fit is the goal. If you are a man that may be the right fit, you don't find the previous sentence triggering. Drummer and bass player are both men, and they get it. We are all seasoned players, so please be well experienced and ready to learn songs quickly as we get back into "gig shape" and shake off the cobwebs of the last year+. I am seeking a unique player who can play everything from the blues to jazz fusion to shoegaze to funk to pop. Someone who knows that sometimes less is more, can do rhythm and background texture without overstepping the singing and rhythm guitar, likes to solo but maybe not every single song or for long periods of time, and is there to support the song. We play locally at places like The Skylark, The Blue Moon, Tim's Tavern, Slim's, etc. We were on Band In Seattle a few years ago, got a bit of airplay on KEXP's Audioasis with our 2020 release, and look forward to building on that foundation! We practice sober and ideally like to play shows very close to sober too, meaning maybe a drink or so, no hard drugs, best foot forward kind of thing. Practice typically happens once a month, sometimes less and sometimes more if we have a gig, need to work in a new member, or have new songs to work on. We have a space available to us Sat/Sun and usually practice 12-2. Weekend availability to practice is a must. The space is close to 1-5 between SoDo and Georgetown. Please live close enough for a commute. Car is a must, ideally you have a portable easy to move/carry set up. We try to keep it low key, flexible, and gig about 3-5 times a year, locally, on a weekend with a solid bill. Interested in playing out of town as well... Since I can't pay band members, I pay for the space, recording, advertising, merch, etc. I don't currently make more money than I spend keeping this band dream alive... If that changes and we get well paid gigs, we can chat about options and what is fair, but so far I have found people who just liked playing my tunes, playing live shows, having some fun and replenishing the always "in the red" recording funds so we can make more albums! I have new songs ready to go, and want to record again in the next year or so. I don't like to put identifying information on here, so reply if you genuinely think you'd be a good fit and want to know more. I will send you links. Let me know what YOU are looking for and maybe a little about yourself? Thank you! C
