top-notch Bassist and metal-oriented Guitarist needed

Fort Collins CO
Description
Rock-solid drummer and lead singer, both in our 40s- with years of experience in live and studio settings. Need 2 like-minded souls who wish to play some heavy off the wall covers and B-side tracks to get things going. We are not looking to play any original music at all, to be clear- at least not until we mesh as a band... which will be well down the line. We shy away from the overly commercial stuff and like to cover guitar-based deep tracks. Our influences are far and wide, but leans toward the heavy side. Seeking the other half ( bassist and guitarist) to help found our new doom-metal oriented project. No speed-metal but harder edged slower metal with a groove is the sound we're going for. Our influences are: 70s hard rock (Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, the Who, Thin Lizzy, Rush, Kiss, the Stooges, Aerosmith, UFO, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Queen, Rainbow, Alice Cooper, Scorpions, Montrose, Deep Purple, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Mountain, T-Rex, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Zappa) 80s metal (Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Ratt, Quiet Riot, WASP, Dio, GNR, LA Guns, Dokken, etc...) 90s and onward influences are Corrosion of Conformity, Pantera, Kyuss, Alice in Chains, S.O.D., Ministry, Down, the Melvins, Monster Magnet, Helmet, Mastodon, Gojira, Electric Wizard, Clutch, White Zombie, Type O Negative, Slipknot, Rammstein, SOAD, Fu Manchu... you get the vibe. Although we both grew up listening to Slayer, Lamb Of God, Exodus, Motorhead, Metal Church, Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Morbid Angel, Sepultura, Deicide, Anthrax, Testament, pre-90s Metallica, Armored Saint.... and other thrash-era type stuff, we aren't necessarily trying to play it these days anymore. We want to be HEAVY as we can but without crazy-fast tempos. Been there, done that. If this genre or listing of influential bands strikes a chord with you, feel free to hit us up and we can talk to see if we're on the same page or not. Prefer musicians in the 35-55 age range for sake of compatibility. Professional gear and positive attitude are needed. We will screen all who apply to insure it's not a waste of time for you or us before we arrange to meet up. Must be capable, dependable, reliable, able to practice at least 1x a week for a few hours, be easy to deal with, and most importantly... have the ability to actually play like a professional and learn the material. We'd like to be playing out within 6 months or sooner but we are realistic. If you have a rehearsal spot, that's a bonus!
