Great Lakes Stair and Steel is looking for additional experienced steel fabricators and individuals looking to learn a new career to add to our company. The opportunity is full time and includes overtime work. Wages are paid weekly on an hourly basis; overtime is paid at time-and-a-half. Current hours are 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM Monday-Thursday and 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Friday. Responsibilities include: - Miscellaneous steel fabrication – we deal primarily in stairs, ladders and railings - CNC/Robotic machine operations - Fabrication includes welding, bending, grinding, cutting, and prime painting - Contributing to general shop upkeep and maintenance - Helping with unloading materials as they come in (use of forklifts and overhead cranes) - Storing materials and finished products in an orderly fashion Skills and qualities needed for this position: - Experienced working with steel fabrication - Excellent welding skills, primarily Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick welding) and Metal Inert Gas Welding (MIG welding) - Ability to lift and move at least 50+ pounds and to be on your feet most of the day (8-10 hour shifts) - Comprehension of blueprints and welding symbols - Friendly personality and willing to work as part of a team - Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Compensation rates at $16.00-$30.00 an hour depending on experience or a desire to accept responsibility.
