Looking for a full time mechanics helper. We are Marine propulsion service company that has been in business for 30 years. We are are located in Harvey, LA about 4 minutes from the industrial canal. We are a 24 hour 365 days a year operation. We are looking for a new team member to assist with lead mechanics, and shop duties. POSITION SUMMARY Mechanic Helper will assist in overhauls, repair and install major equipment on site and in shop. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability desired. JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES Works under close supervision or follows detailed procedures / processes. Must express good mechanical ability. Accountable for completion of daily work assignments. Will be required to perform non-craft-related work as needed. Monitors working environment for compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and health regulations. Must know and understand basic hand tool and power tool nomenclature. Must be able to demonstrate proper application of hand tools and power tools, as well as safety precautions/procedures pertaining to same. QUALIFICATIONS High School graduate or GED Strongly prefer 1+ yr of industrial or marine maintenance experience. Clean criminal history (ability to qualify for and obtain a TWIC) Valid driver's license. We strongly prefer at least one year of industrial or marine maintenance experience. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Travel may be required per business needs.
