We are seeking a Motorcycle Technician for our rapidly growing Fenton, MO tire store. We are Missouri’s largest retailer of Michelin motorcycle tires, and we service all makes and models of motorcycles, ATV’s, etc. We are part of the No-Mar Tire Changer family of companies and exclusively use No-Mar Tire Changers to provide superior scratch-proof tire service to our valued customers. RESPONSIBILITIES: Our Motorcycle Technicians are customer-facing and will often assist a customer from their first contact to final delivery of their bike. This is a physical job and will require routine lifting, bending, walking, standing, etc. Primary Duties Include: • Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting customers • Meeting and greeting customers and assisting in tire and service selections, accessory sales, etc. • Researching tire brands/models/sizes, part numbers, maintenance schedules/procedures and more • Changing tires, tubes, valve stems, bearings, etc. and balancing wheels/tires • Removing/reinstalling wheels on motorcycles, ATV’s, and other vehicles • Installing brake pads & rotors, adjusting and bleeding brakes • Checking oil & other fluid levels, changing fluids, etc. • Installing accessories such as handle bars, exhausts, seats, bags, chains, sprockets, belts, batteries, etc. • Test riding to diagnose issues reported by customer or found during service • Performing all work to manufacturer and company standards • Performing Missouri Motorcycle Safety Inspections • Collecting payment, checking-out customers, and explaining the services performed • Keeping work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disposing of trash and similar janitorial tasks are required of all employees.) REQUIREMENTS: All applicants should have experience riding motorcycles of many types, from dirt bikes to cruisers and everything in between. The ideal candidate will have broad mechanical aptitude and skills and a passion for riding, along with a dedication to superior customer service. Experienced technician and recent tech/vocational school graduates will be given top consideration. Candidates MUST: • Have a current, valid driver’s license with Motorcycle endorsement/license • Have a clean driving record and reliable transportation • Be punctual, reliable, and DRAMA-FREE with no violent felony record • Be able to precisely follow instructions and work with minimal supervision • Have a friendly and helpful approach to customer service • Be competent in the operation of personal computers including navigating websites, ordering parts, research, word processing, etc. • Be able to take and pass Missouri Highway Patrol exam and practical test for certification as a state safety inspector within 6 months of hiring • Have a good memory and organizational skills • Be flexible and prepared to perform other duties throughout the company as needed (Assisting other departments including manufacturing, sales, maintenance, etc. is common.) • Use proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as eye/hearing/respiratory protection, gloves, appropriate clothing, etc. OUR COMPANY: We are a 17-year-old family owned company in the motorcycle tire, tool and accessory business and offer a generous employee discount on motorcycle parts and accessories from several vendors. We also operate a manufacturing facility in Crestwood. We are currently building an all-new state-of-the-art motorcycle service facility at the intersection of I-44 and Hwy 141 in Valley Park. HOURS & BENEFITS: This is a 40-hour/week position. Schedule will vary weekly; we operate Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:30PM, Saturday 7:30AM to 3:30PM. All new hires are expected to work a minimum of every other Saturday for the first year of employment. There is almost never overtime required or available. There is occasionally opportunity to travel for trade shows and rallies. All necessary tools are provided, but we encourage our technicians to maintain their own toolbox. Company facilities and equipment are available to employees for personal use after hours; no side jobs allowed. We offer 5 paid federal holidays; 1 week paid vacation after 1 year; 2 weeks after 4 years. We pay 80% of health insurance (Anthem Gold PPO) premium for employees after 60 days.
