Director of Operations (Commercial Cleaning company). Bridgewater, NJ. Requires: 5-10 years of operation experience in the cleaning industry, which must include a minimum of 5 years in commercial cleaning & supervisory experience. Our client operates a thriving cleaning service for commercial, residential, and post-construction clients and offers special services such as carpet cleaning and floor stripping and waxing. The company seeks a Director of Operations to oversee its growing business. Primary Responsibilities of the Director of Operations: The Director of Operations is responsible for establishing and maintaining work standards, processes, and procedures including conducting site evaluations/audits, budget control, troubleshooting / problem solving, orientation/training of supervisory and support personnel, safety compliance, customer relations, and special project work as requested. More specifically includes: ► Manage/supervise 3 managers heading specific operational divisions/service areas (direct reports), manage subcontractors and assist with employee supervision ► Assist team leaders with job training onsite and offsite. ► Responsible for conducting quality assurance control. ► Attend contractor’s meetings. ► Job costing and cost reduction to include monitoring time spent on each job and creating benchmarks. ► Conduct meetings with team leaders or teams at least once a month. ► Determine staffing needs for field work and consult with management. ► Hire, train and orient all new staff to ensure the highest degree of cleanliness and client satisfaction, monitor performance ► New contract implementation, execution and realization ► Ensure that service delivery is consistent with the highest quality of standards within the organization and industry. ► Establish/enforce workflow processes, procedures, and consistent standards. Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and train staff on expectations and repeatable processes. Identify efficiencies that can be capitalized on. ► Meet and communicate with clients regularly to ensure satisfaction, identify opportunities, and provide status updates on daily operations and projects. ► Control expenses for all managed operations, review job costs and adjust as necessary to meet budget compliance. ► Oversee safety compliance in the work environment as required by OSHA and company policies and serve as a role model to promote a safe work culture. Ensure that safety protocols and environmental procedures are maintained in accordance with Local, State, Federal and Company requirements. ► Be available by phone/text to support team members, supervisors and management. Qualifications of the Director of Operations: ► 5-10 years of operations experience in the cleaning industry, to include 5-plus years in commercial cleaning business. ► 5 years’ minimum experience managing 1 or more employees. Demonstrated leadership abilities in motivating, supervising, evaluating and training. ► Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred ► Knowledge of Best Practices for chemicals/products usage and equipment maintenance and safety laws ► Knowledge of cleaning products, window cleaning, stripping & waxing floors, janitorial operations ► Experience in evaluating and improving operating efficiencies, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and managing metrics and benchmarks ► Ability to communicate clearly and in a positive manner, verbal and written communication skills ► Customer service-oriented with exceptional oral and written communications skills ► Planning and organization skills; ability to attend to details, meet deadlines, prioritize ► Ability to problem solve, analyze and provide solutions, resolve conflicts ► Self -starter, proactive leader; “roll up your sleeves” attitude ► Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word) ► Must have valid NJ Driver’s License in good standing, reliable transportation and US work authorization Note: Working Conditions: Work requires traveling between job sites throughout NJ & sometimes NYC. The Director of Operations will be subject to weekend, early morning, and/or evening shifts to accommodate client requirements as needed. Physical Requirements: Frequent standing and walking during the workday. Occasional grasping, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, finger manipulation, pushing, pulling, stretching, reaching overhead, stooping, and climbing.
