You smiled as we passed each other. I smiled back, but may have been past you already and you didn't see. I turned and watched you walk south to 106th. You got the corner and crossed 106th, and then you turned around. I waved at you and you started walking back towards me. Wow! I thought. But you crossed 106th again in my direction, only to turn right and walk out of sight. And out of my life. Sigh.
