Taylor's Hope was founded with the purpose of providing support to children who are ill from diseases, as well as raising awareness and funds for Histiocytosis research. We want to keep kids smiling during one of the most difficult times in their lives and provide support to them, their parents, and their siblings, who are also trying to deal with the magnitude of the situation. We want to show them that there are people that care, that understand and that want to help them. We appreciate all of your help in making that happen! For those of you that don’t know our daughter Taylor has a rare disease that is classified as a cancer. It is called Neuro-Degenerative Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, it has caused a lesion on her brain, diabetes Insipidus, POTS, as well as neuro degeneration to her cerebellum which causes her to have partial focal point seizures. Taylor is has been on and off chemotherapy for 10 years. In the past 10 years she has undergone over 300 intravenous chemotherapy treatments, 4 different oral chemotherapy pills that she took every day, a ton of MRI’s, CT scans, surgeries, constant blood tests, lumbar punctures, physical therapy, weekly doctors’ appointments and a craniotomy to help the doctors figure out the best way to treat her. As of May 2018 she was in remission, unfortunately in September of 2018 she relapsed and had to restart IV chemotherapy, she didn't respond well to that so now she is currently undergoing a new form of chemotherapy, a pill that she takes daily and will be on until the oncologists feel she can stop. We will continue to fight for awareness as well as raise money for research until there are more answers and hopefully one day a cure. Histiocytosis only affects 1 in 200,000 children so it is therefore considered an “orphan disease”, which means there is virtually no government funded research. Virtually all the money raised for research comes from family and friends of people with Histiocytosis. FAQs Do I have to buy a ticket if I want to just come and do the raffles? If you are coming to only do the raffles you do not have to purchase a ticket BUT you will NOT be permitted to have any food or take part in any of the outdoor events. You MUST have an admission bracelet on in order to enjoy the food, ice cream or any of the other outdoor events. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please contact Teresa at 631-965-8155 or [email protected] with any questions. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? We will have a running list of all attendees so it is not necessary to bring your printed ticket.
