Guitar / Bass looking for Original Project

I'm a Guitarist / Bassist in my 30s, looking for a new original project with a few covers thrown in. On the music side: I'm a fan of most styles of music, but especially things that have a strong groove, be it rock, funk, jazz, pop, R&B, electronic, jam band stuff, etc. I've been in numerous bands and projects over the years, and have done quite a bit of gigging and recording. I've played in bands that are more improv-based/jam oriented, as well as bands that are tightly focused on song writing and arrangements. Next in line is a collaborative creative process with room for a decent level of musicianship. If I had a goal in mind, I'd say a groove-heavy (R&B, Jazz, and Funk influenced) rock group with solid arrangements and some room for improv. I'm not afraid of heavy music. In fact I really enjoy it. I don't think I want it to be the focus of this project, though. Eventually I'd like to gig and record some new stuff. If you've got a project already in motion and you need a guitarist or bassist, feel free to reach out - I'm open to that, too. On the personal / professional side: I've got a regular day job and a family. I have gear and transportation. I'm not interested in hard drugs or drama. Thanks for reading.
