Chicago Mahogany Tours proudly offers south side neighborhood tours by our Urban Historian, Dilla! Chicago Mahogany, LLC is dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of the rich history and culture of the city of Chicago. We aim to highlight Chicago’s people, architecture, and impact on the world. Our passion fuels our duty to deliver this history and educate current and future generations. We desire to plant a seed that will foster a sense of pride and community. "The Chicago Way. Fourth of July Tours 🇺🇸🙏🏿💯🙌🏿 July 3-4, 2021 (July 3rd is SOLD OUT) On this tour we will be honoring Chicago’s contributions to the continuation of this great country. We will visit Armories that are still standing, and see the sites of Armories long forgotten. We’ll visit a Confederate Mass grave on the South Side and pay tribute to the men who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of America. We will do all of this, of course,on Chicago’s Historic South Side. Chicago Race Riot of 1919 Tours July 17- 18, 2021 Join us as we revisit the 1919 Chicago Race Riot, a pivots moment in Chicago’s history. We will visit the area where the riot started and other sites that were affected by this tragic course of events. We will be discussing the Chicago Commission on Race Relations and rather not changes were ever made. We will see first hand how this event would go on to shape Chicago neighborhoods for years to come. Join Us!!!! Passengers will board the bus in the east parking lot of DuSable Museum of African American History. It is located just west of 57th & Cottage Grove. PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINS BEFORE DEPARTURE. WE WILL BE LEAVING ON TIME. IT WILL BREAK OUR HEART IF WE HAVE TO LEAVE YOU. We suggest you find parking in Washington Park, adjacent to the museum.
