*In need of a Full-Time, Fiber Splicer to be responsible for terminating, splicing, documenting and testing of all fiber optic cables, and their related equipment with the end goal of providing maximum operating efficiency. *Coordinate fiber activities with operation manager. *Perform ring cuts on live fiber without affecting existing services. Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters. Terminates, splices, bonds/grounds and tests fiber optic equipment to division standards Willing to trian the right individiual. QUALIFICATIONS: - Self Starter, highly motivated, strong communication skills, dependable. - Ability to work under minimal supervision, within broad guidelines of procedures and goals, being able to apply technical expertise to a variety of situations, evaluating problems and implementing the best solution while operating within procedural and safety guidelines of company and client. - Work well under pressure and deadline environments. - Must have High School Diploma or equivalent, relative experience is a plus. - Valid State Drivers License, Clean driving record required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Maximum body weight cannot exceed industry standards in order to comply with safety limitations of equipment. - Carry, set-up and extend ladders weighing up to 100 lbs., as well as work with confidence on ladders and utility poles at heights of up to 20 feet. - Must be able to carry, lift, push and pull at least 75lbs. - Comfortable working outdoors in various environments. (Hot/Cold) - Visual and aural acuity to operate a variety of standard test and measurement equipment.
