Description
I’m going to preface this by saying my wife and I are moving this week to Oak Park from Aurora and it’s pretty close to the Austin neighborhood. My wife will be commuting to a branch of the retail chain that she works at in Bucktown, which is one of the city’s more “hip“ neighborhoods. We drove by one of the places that she plans on walking to in Austin and parking her car. At 10 o’clock on Saturday I certainly didn’t feel unsafe. However I trust my wife that she is intelligent enough because she grew up in Gage Park which wasn’t exactly a great neighborhood fifteen plus years ago and she can tell a bad neighborhood when she sees one.
By your logic however, I shouldn’t be alive right now to post this. Which is rather idiotic logic by the way. My wife and I went to Bucktown and nothing happened. I used to do post mates all over the city. I drove unarmed at night down Halsted in Englewood. Nothing happened. I went to drop off a rental car last week In the neighborhood where Cabrini Green used to stand.
Nothing happened.
In my experience things happen to people when they go looking for trouble.
