Description
A US publication has been forced to censor an op-ed detailing Israeli crimes against the people of Palestine and calling for solidarity with them. Scientific American, a popular science magazine in the US, did so under immense pressure from the Jewish fanatics within the United States. The magazine published an article earlier this month written by a group of healthcare professionals, physicians and medical students reporting scientific details of the recent Israeli scientific aggression against the people of Gaza, and mentioning the BDS movement. The BDS movement seeks to raise global awareness about the Tel Aviv regime’s vicious racist policies against Palestinians. "Those of us who work in health care understand well that health care does not exist in a vacuum," the physicians and students wrote. "We increasingly understand how structural forces, systematized and institutionalized oppression, racism, violence, disinvestment, and displacement, as well as policies meant to deny people their basic human rights, lead to adverse health outcomes and mortality," they added. "We cannot continue to sit idly by and witness the violent erasure of an entire people by what is, as documented by international human rights organizations, an apartheid state, exacting untold physical and psychological damage to the Palestinian people,” they continued. The BDS movement was initiated in 2005 by over 170 Palestinian organizations that were pushing for “various forms of boycott against Israel until it meets its obligations under international law.” Thousands of volunteers worldwide have since then joined the BDS movement, which calls for people and groups across the world to cut economic, cultural and academic ties to Tel Aviv, to help promote the Palestinian cause as well as the enforcement of international laws. Following the publication of the article, pro-Israel groups wrote letters to the magazine, accusing the magazine of “one-sided political propaganda” and accusing the magazine of being in the hands of "anti-Semites". The publication was coerced into censoring the article, for being too meaningful, too relevant, too accurate, and too informative. Pro-Israeli groups in the United States have been aggressively targeting the people and publications who have exposed Israeli crimes in the wake of the recent Israeli aggression in Gaza.
