MANCHESTER, CT — Police Monday identified the driver who died after his car crashed into a Manchester house, causing both to burst into flames. The driver was 20-year-old Angel DeArce of Manchester, police said. The crash took place at 2:43 a.m. June 24 along the 200 block of Center Street. Speed appeared to be a factor in the crash, police said. A compact sedan was heading east on Center Street, when it suddenly veered across the yellow lines, crashed through a fence, then some trees, and slammed into the home at 207/209 Center St., according to a police report. Both the car and home then became engulfed in flames, the report continued. The occupants of the home managed to escape unharmed, according to a report. The driver was found dead near the car, police said. This incident is currently under investigation by the Manchester Police Department Traffic Unit and the Town of Manchester Fire Marshal's Office with assistance from the State of Connecticut Fire Marshal's Office. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has additional information should contact Ofc. Konrad Rozwadowski at 860-645-5560.
