Stabbing Suspect Arrested In Sterling On Saturday: Police

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A Sterling woman was arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing on Saturday that left a woman seriously injured, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The suspect, Shonte Hamilton of Sterling, was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center after an investigation. Loudoun County deputies received a report of a stabbing at 4:23 a.m. on Saturday, June 26. The stabbing occurred in the 2oo block of Emory Drive in Sterling. Authorities said the victim called 911 on her own to report the stabbing. After emergency personnel arrived, the victim, who police only identified as a woman, was taken to a nearby hospital. In an update posted on Facebook on Saturday, the sheriff's office said the victim remained in the hospital for treatment of "serious injuries." After assisting the victim, deputies began investigating the incident. On Saturday, deputies were able to identify and locate a suspect, who they identified as Hamilton. Hamilton was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated malicious wounding. She is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. Hamilton was arraigned in Loudoun General District Court on Monday morning. Her next court date, a preliminary hearing, is scheduled for Aug. 4. The crime is also punishable by a fine of up to $100,000.
