Press release from the San Antonio Public Library: June 26, 2021 1918 Beginning this morning, Bexar County women are able to obtain registration receipts allowing them to vote in the upcoming July primary. The receipts must be obtained at the courthouse in the office of the tax collector. 1922 After a series of mishaps with the hydrogen-filled airships at Brooks Field, the Air Corps Balloon and Airship School is transferred to Scott Field in Illinois. 1999 The San Antonio Spurs win their first NBA championship with a game five victory over the New York Knicks (right).
