JERSEY CITY, NJ — Eight men from Jersey who are members of a gang associated with the Marion Gardens Housing Complex were indicted on Friday on racketeering, drug trafficking and violent crime charges.
The men indicted are as follows:
Jervon Morris, aka "Sticky," 32Jalil Holmes, aka "Broad Day," aka "BD," 21Kevin Williams, aka "KK," aka "Kay," 27Jakeem Gibson-Madison, aka "Beanz," 27K'shawn Jackson, aka "Lil Kay," 21Lakief Grayson, aka "Lala," aka "La Greaz," 30Willie Williams, aka "Willz," 30Terick Rogers, aka "Moot," 29According to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, all eight men are either members or associates of the Marion Gardens street gang, which routinely distributed crack cocaine, heroin and other drugs in the housing complex. The gang also committed several assaults, shootings, and murders, which targeted rival gang members and others, according to the HCPO.
The prosecutor's office worked with the FBI and the Jersey City Police Department on a long-running investigation into the gang that led to the indictments. Incidents of assaults and shootings go back to July 2011 and up through June 2019.
This investigation was conducted as part of the Jersey City Violent Crime Initiative (VCI). The VCI was formed in 2018 by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, and the Jersey City Police Department, for the sole purpose of combatting violent crime in and around Jersey City.
All eight men are facing RICO conspiracy charges, or Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations charges, which holds a maximum sentencing of life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
