WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their latest blotter Monday. Here is information from the reports:
A resident in the 4000 block of Central Avenue told police June 22 that he gave his personal information to a fraudulent website after receiving a text message purporting to be from his bank that directed him to the website. A roll of carpet valued at $350 was stolen from a work truck Wednesday in the 1000 block of Hickory Drive. The truck was parked in the driveway of a house where the carpet was to be installed. A fraudulent student loan was opened in the name of a resident in the 600 block of 54th Place at a community college in Michigan. The loan balance is $4,000. The report was made Wednesday. A boy's bicycle was stolen between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Burlington Avenue. The owner was unsure if the bike was locked. The bike is valued at $700.An unlocked boy's bicycle was stolen between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Friday at the parking lot of Salerno's Pizzeria, 821 Burlington Ave. The bike is valued at $800.
