Wolf is a one year old German Shepherd dog, who i have been fostering since January. This is the first time i am attempting to find him a home because i have been training him and getting to know him. Wolf is a very very well trained dog who needs a special home. He walks well on a loose leash, knows heel, sit & down (sit means sit until released, same with down), he is great at ignoring distractions on walks like other dogs. He also knows some tricks like "Paw" and "Spin" Wolf is ONLY available to someone who has a lot of German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois experience. If you have zero experience with the shepherds please do not message me, if your only experience is playing with your friends german shepherd, do not message me. Wolf is a serious working dog who needs a home without young children. He is good with female dogs, but not males, and while i have gotten him to behave around my cats he has an EXTREMELY high prey drive. He needs a home that understands his breed traits and characteristics. He is not the type of dog that anyone can run up to and get in his face. If you want a dog to go to family BBQ and interact with all your family that comes by once a year he is not the dog for you. He is not a vicious dog by any means, he can be around strangers and he will ignore them just fine, he does not fawn over people who are not his owners. This means that new people should not grab him by the face, hug, kiss, or try to rough house with him. When new people come in the household just have them ignore him, after the excitement calms down they can ask him to do commands like "Sit" or "Down" which will be a much more appropriate way for Wolf to get to know new people. He bonds VERY closely to the immediate family, and will let "His" people do ANYTHING to him,He will want to be with you anywhere you go, he is an AMAZING hiking partner and needs a active home. He has the potential to be a GREAT sport dog, or just an active family pet. He is vaccinated, dewormed, on heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention. He will come with his leash,collar, food, and vaccine records. New owner must agree to sign a contract that if they cannot keep Wolf he will be returned to ME, I do not want him put down in a shelter, or bounced around. He is a wonderful dog that is deserving of a great family that understands his breed and his needs. There WILL be a 450$ rehoming fee. Located in Mountain Top PA. Must have a vet reference.
