Description
PALO ALTO, CA — The Palo Alto Humane Society will give more than 100 homemade dog toys to the San Jose Animal Care Center on Tuesday afternoon.
The toys were made by more than 100 kids from different Bay Area youth groups, using old t-shirts and tennis balls during a May 22 event at the Church of the Latter Day Saints in Sunnyvale.
"We at PAHS bring fabulous homemade toys to local shelters and rescue groups in hopes of creating some awareness of the dogs needing adoption and make them happy with toys to play with while they wait for a home," Peninsula Humane Society Executive Director Carole Hyde said in a news release.
The donation will take place at 1:30 p.m. at the San Jose Animal Care Center on Monterey Road.
At a later date, more dog toys will be donated to the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority, which is the Palo Alto Humane Society's education partner shelter.
