Attempted Bank Robbery Reported On South Main Street: Watch

CONCORD, NH — Concord police and a New Hampshire State Police K-9 unit scoured the South for more than an hour on Monday searching to find an attempted bank robbery suspect. At around 2:45 p.m., police were sent to the Ledyard National Bank at 74 S. Main St. for a report of a possible bank robbery. Dispatch told the first responding officers that a man passed a note to a teller, demanding money, and then fled the bank. It is unknown, at post time, if the suspect left with or without any money. The suspect was described as white, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall, and between 275 and 300 pounds. He was wearing an "old school" Bruins jersey and jeans shorts, a black baseball cap, a bandana, and sunglasses. The suspect fled west on Perley Street. Police learned later the note demanded all of the bank's money and if they didn't give him money, the note said, they would die, according to dispatch. The New Hampshire State Police K-9 unit was called in to assist with the incident. The Concord police criminal investigations division also arrived to collect evidence. The K-9 unit began tracking the suspect around the South End — from the bank, along South State Street, onto Grove Street, back over to Perley Street, and down to South State Street as well as West Street. One officer stated she found evidence on Perley Street near Teddy's Tees. Around 3:45 p.m., the track ended since they were unable to find a suspect. Got a news tip? Send it to [email protected].
