UPPER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Upper Makefield Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in finding a hit and run driver. Around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 1600 block of River Road for a hit and run accident. An investigation revealed that a 2012-2018 black Ford Focus, with a possible New Jersey license plate, had attempted to pass several vehicles that were traveling south on River Road by traveling south in the northbound lane of River Road near Lurgan Road. As a white Volkswagen SUV attempted to turn left into the parking lot at Bowman's Tavern, it was struck by the black Ford Focus. The Ford stopped on River Road just south of Lurgan Road where the driver, described as a white male with short dark hair, wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans got out of his vehicle. The driver inspected the damage to his vehicle and then left the scene, continuing south on River Road toward Washington Crossing. If you have any information on the driver, contact Officer Bryan Walter at 215-968-3020. Be the first to know what's happening in your town and area.
