Marine Field Service Technician Our growing, entrepreneurial organization is looking to add an experienced Marine Field Service Technician to our team of highly skilled and trained professionals. Were looking for someone who can work independently in a very physical role requiring keen attention to detail and the desire to want to learn and do more. Prestige provides high quality field service/repairs, and in this customer-facing role we do not take shortcuts or cut corners. The Marine Field Service Technician will be responsible for traveling to customers location and perform all aspects of assigned boat repair including basic maintenance/service, marine AC, aftermarket product installation, repair work, and a variety of other duties. This role reports to the Master Mechanic. Here's what you'll do as a Marine Field Service Technician: • Travel to marina/dock to inspect, maintain, and repair/replace components in marine vessels that are generally 40 ft. or less with a focus on engines, transmissions, steering, throttle, navigational equipment, electrical, AC systems and sanitation. • Use diagnostic equipment to conduct inspections and identify deficiencies; verify performance by conducting sea trials, etc. and making necessary adjustments to repairs as needed • Provide outstanding and professional customer service at all times; upsell value-added maintenance programs and other repair recommendations to customer when possible • Routine tasks include lubricating, cleaning, repairing, and adjusting parts; troubleshooting engine and electrical problems, conducting plumbing/intake repairs, replacing engine parts/engine overhauls, repairing hydraulic and steering systems, conducting electrical/HVAC system maintenance, and washing vessel • Complete service records and repair records with accurate documentation and within a timely manner • Maintain a safe and organized work environment at all times • Keep abreast of ongoing training and field developments; participate in ongoing certification programs • Perform other duties as required Heres what you already have to be a successful Marine Field Service Technician: • 3+ years proven track record as a Marine Field Service Technician or related position • Working knowledge of marine engine, steering, HVAC, hydraulic and electrical systems a must • I/O (inboard/outboard)experience a must • Yamaha, and Mercury MerCruiser Certifications HIGHLY preferred • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team • Effective verbal and written communication skills required; customer comes first mentality are musts • Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, or stoop, as well as crawl/walk/climb in confined spaces for extended periods of time • Work at heights in excess of 4 feet • Ability to provide own tools highly preferred • Physical ability to perform work outdoors • Clean driving record and valid license with ability to travel 85-90% locally in company-provided vehicle; must be insurable • Background check required Job Type: Full-time Benefits: • Paid time off Schedule: • Monday to Friday • Weekends License/Certification: • Driver's License (Required) Work Location: • On the road This Company Describes Its Culture as: • Innovative -- innovative and risk-taking • Aggressive -- competitive and growth-oriented • People-oriented -- supportive and fairness-focused
