SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A Scottsdale police officer received minor injuries during a hit-and-run crash near Indian School Road and Scottsdale Road on Monday. According to the Scottsdale Police Department, the injury occurred after the driver intentionally backed into the officer's motorcycle during a traffic stop. After striking the officer, police said the male driver and female passenger inside the vehicle fled the traffic stop. The suspects then struck another vehicle near 75th Street and Indian School Road and fled from the scene. The driver of that vehicle was not injured. Police said officers located the duo's vehicle and began a brief chase. The vehicle entered an apartment complex near 78th St and Camelback Road. Both suspects fled on foot. The vehicle was later recovered by police. Police said they ultimately learned the suspects had stolen an ambulance from an unrelated medical incident in the area. The ambulance was abandoned and recovered in the area of 79th Street and Heatherbrae. Police said they were able to arrested the female suspect. However, the male suspect is still at large. He's wanted for aggravated assault on an officer and theft of an emergency vehicle. Other charges are pending. He is described as a white man, heavy build, dark-colored shirt with a horizontal stripe, tan pants and tattoos. If anyone has information about the suspect, contact the Scottsdale Police Department.
