We have an opening for a Professional Mover. If you have a valid chauffers' license, that would be ideal but not required. As a professional mover, you will be moving customers’ household or office belongings (limited packing required but option to pack if interested). Moves range from just a single item to an entire home or office. Items to be moved can often weigh several hundred pounds. Moves involving stairways are very common. The workday can be long (a ten-hour day is not unheard of). These demands require a person with above average strength, stamina, fitness and skill. New employees will be given an orientation to the moving industry along with both classroom and hands-on training. Essential Duties and Tasks include: • Carrying heavy items long distances and up/down stairways. • Manually hoisting heavy items. • Wrapping furniture and equipment. • Box-pack items such as breakables, books, artwork, knick-knacks (not required but optional) • Working with moving equipment and tools. • Disassembling and reassembling furniture and equipment. • Providing quality, customer service at all times. • Completing paperwork. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills. • Maintain a professional but friendly demeanor at all times. • Demonstrate strong communication skills. • Work well with others. Qualifications: • Must have fitness skills, above average stamina for physical labor and can lift 75lbs on a regular basis. • Must pass background checks. A criminal record does not create an automatic disqualification. • High school diploma/G.E.D. preferred. • Must have reliable transportation to get to and from our office. • Must have a reliable telephone or some type of means to communicate with the office on a daily basis. Salary: Salary range $15-$20 per hour (no experience and no chauffers' license) Salary range $16- $21 per hour (experience and no chauffers' license) Salary range $18- $25 per hour (experience and chauffers' license) Salary does not include tips. Bonus' and commission are available. We are willing to pay for and help you get a chauffers' license. We currently have a $300 sign on bonus. $100 paid out at 30 days and $200 paid out at 90 days. Work Hours: Due to the nature of the moving industry, employment is dictated by the needs of our clients. Therefore, it can be sporadic and unpredictable; and as such, employment is defined as intermittent. Hours will vary from week to week. Summer tends to be a busier season. We do have relationships and continue to develop and nurture business relationships that demand moving services all year long.
