Lead Guitarist Wanted for true 80's Cover Band

We are a true 80’s cover band focused on playing the most popular dance songs of the 80’s. What makes us different then other 80’s cover bands are that we play all genres of 80’s songs with the focus on playing songs geared towards women and getting people on the dance floor. Our band currently has a drummer, bass, keys, sax, and lead vocals. Our target audience is women between the ages of 40-60 years old and we want to create an environment where we bring them back to when they were a girl in the 80’s. The thinking is when women are happy they are on the dance floor or singing all out the tunes to these songs. They will end up pulling their husbands and boyfriends on the dance floor and we are going to have a party! So that means you might play a Van Halen or Journey tune, followed by a Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson or Eurhythmics tune. To be clear we play big hits from the 80’s but we are going to play a lot of “chick songs” and you would need to be comfortable (and hopefully excited) playing them. What are we looking for in a guitar player? • Good feel and can play the tunes. • Play the harder solos and is not afraid to play Van Halen, Journey or Prince solos • Someone who listens to the overall sound, works well with other players in the band • A reliable player who wants to be part of our overall vision • Someone excited about the band and it’s direction What we are not: We are not a band that is going to grind ourselves into the ground playing Irish pubs 1-2 nights a week until 1am for small pay. We are not a bar band. Don’t get me wrong we will play bars and smaller places too but our focus is on larger events. We are all working professionals and we are focused on marketing ourselves to corporate and larger events.
