Bell Bros. has an immediate need for an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated Technical Trainer. The Technical Trainer is responsible for developing and conducting technical training programs for employees. They will work daily with our class of trainees to advance their technical abilities, to round out their communication skills, and to teach them the Bell Bros. tune-up. The Technical Trainer will use their background and field experience to demonstrate how our trainees are to safely perform their service call, as well as handle all client interaction to maximize the customer service experience we provide. This is an Exempt level position reporting to the Training Manager. As the training area is one of constant change, the ideal candidate must be able to react positively and help lead the way forward to include new developments in training targeted to both new and existing employees. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Teach modules during our 16-week technician training course. · Coordinate and perform ride-along training. · Perform weekly evaluation of trainees in conjunction with other trainers to test effectiveness training. · Moderate and administer “hands on” technical training. · Identify trainee technical/communication weakness and provide support and solutions; hold trainees to a high level of accountability. · Continually evaluate procedures to monitor and analyze training effectiveness and update curriculum as needed. · Consult with management to assess training needs; design, develop, implement and deliver technical training programs for varying levels of employees to meet those needs. · Assist Service Department as needed to provide even coverage and support for Maintenance/Service Technician groups. · Participate as a lead in Service meetings. · Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the Service and Install Departments. · Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc. · Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods. · Assist employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their job description. · Make suggestions on improving work procedures. · Share in interview process to identify new technician trainees. · Promote positive good will on behalf of Bell Bros. to customers and employees alike, while representing the company core values. · Run client service calls in the field as required. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS · 3- 5 years of experience in residential or commercial HVAC maintenance and repair. · Previous teaching or trainer experience preferred. · NATE certified is a plus. · Willingness to travel as needed · Ability to teach trainees how to engage with clients and communicate sales · Requires initiative, motivation, creativity and ability to understand many areas of expertise. · Ability to assess needs related to Bell Bros. practices and procedures and produce training programs and materials to target these needs. · Leadership skills to effectively direct employees while in a training environment. · The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, trainees and customers. · Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management. · Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary to produce and deliver quality training programs. · Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team. · Must possess the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues. · Strong planning and organizational skills. · Strong analytical skills. · Proven presentation and facilitation skills. · Experience in facilitating product and technical training. · Proven track record of training/teaching ability, and success in service/ customer service businesses. · Knowledge of Windows, Power Point, Word and Excel or similar programs required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS · Regularly required to: handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; speak, hear and communicate · Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-75lbs · Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl · Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance · Occasionally required to perform work in attics, narrow crawl spaces, or rooftops requiring the use of ladders. · Required to use a respirator · Occasionally work may be performed in temperatures above 100 degrees · Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
