The selected individual must have mechanical skills, be familiar with performing machine maintenance, organizing inventory and parts, and previous experience welding is helpful. The selected individual must also have the ability to work well with other staff members, have good written and verbal communication skills, be able to follow safety guidelines, and demonstrate potential and motivation through actions in their work. This position requires the individual to be capable of heavy lifting (75-100 lbs.), and to be able to work under adverse weather conditions. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. **If you have previous drilling experience or a CDL, that is a plus** Summary: The driller’s assistant is expected to assist the driller in getting drilling projects done. The driller’s assistant will assist on assuring that all work conforms to our quality standards, that client schedules are met, and that equipment is properly maintained and supplied. Essential Functions: 1. Follows Safety Manual Guidelines and works safely at all times 2. Meet general job expectations 3. Assist driller in all aspects of drilling 4. Learn about all aspects of drilling 5. Assist with required paperwork 6. Perform drilling on limited projects 7. Obtain desired certifications and licenses 8. Show good teamwork efforts and maintain equipment 9. Support the team, the Supervising Driller, and the company 10. Demonstrate potential and motivation through actions in work 11. Perform other duties as assigned Desired Outcomes or Results: To assure that all drilling is performed in a manner consistent with the Company’s goals & standards. In addition to performing and maintaining equipment, the driller’s assistant works closely with the driller to assure quality of work for clients. Education, Knowledge, and Skills Required or Desirable: • Ability to work safely and recognize safety hazards • Valid Nevada License and the ability to obtain a CDL • Ability to operate a manual transmission • Clean Driving (MVR) record • Capable of heavy lifting (75-100 lbs) on a daily basis – good physical condition • Communication skills and organizational skills • Mechanical skills • Works well with others • Minimum 2 years High School strongly preferred • OSHA 40 hour Hazwoper and MSHA 40 hour training a plus This position is NOT for lazy individuals or anyone who struggles to get along with others.
