Capitol Express is a regional small package courier and expedited freight carrier with locations in Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Louisville, and Lexington. Our customers include Air Cargo and Freight Forwarders, local businesses, and logistics companies. We are currently seeking a Dispatcher for our Dayton office. Our offices open 24 hours 7 days a week, this creates DISPATCHER shifts for fulltime or part time days nights and weekends. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES: Taking Client Calls Receiving and Responding to Email alerts. Entering alerts for delivery into dispatch software. Assigning jobs to drivers. Routing and Mapping. Tracking and Advising. Updating customer web portals. Qualifications include: Working knowledge of the Dayton Metro area is required. Dispatch experience preferred driver experience required, preferably in on-demand, Freight Forwarding or air forwarder operations. Experience in the following areas will be considered a plus; - Expedite Trucking / DOT background - Courier or small package delivery driving experience - Air cargo operations, including familiarity with TSA regulations - Customer service Data entry is part of the job Understanding of Mapping programs (Map Quest, MS Streets and Trips, etc.) is a must.
