Job Description In general the job consists of the removal of all fluids, batteries and hazardous materials from the junk vehicles. Responsibilities • Remove all fluids from vehicle. • Remove batteries. • Remove any mercury switches. • Properly manage used fluids and hazardous waste obtained during performance of duties. • Ability to operate pay loader, forklift, and skid steer. • Cleaning, sweeping, and maintaining a clean work environment • Assist customers upon request. • Work with the public unloading, buying and inspecting scrap and junk vehicles. • Hand sorting and unloading material from trailers – unload junk vehicles from trailers with forklift • Maintain communication with crew members while observing details. • Comply with company and client policies and procedures. • Support a zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability for safe work practices in all projects, activities and operations. • Other duties as required. • Monday through Friday & Saturdays Requirements • Knowledge of battery placement and mercury switch locations. • Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components. • Familiarity with hazardous substances. • Ability to remove and dispose of all hazardous substances. • Manufacturing environment, must be 18 to operate machines. • Able to work in all weather and temperature environments. • Must be able to work in a team environment. • Must have flexibility to work varied hours including morning, evening and/or weekends as needed. • Is able to read and write English fluently with demonstrated proficiency in grammar. • Walk, sit, stand and climb ladders/stairs frequently • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. • Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust focus. • Must wear all Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required while working throughout facility.
