Description
Since its formation in 1994, Rocky Mountain Pavement has been Colorado's premier contractor in providing asphalt maintenance services to both commercial and private customers, specializing in asphalt paving and patching, hot-pour crack seal, sealcoat, striping, and concrete repairs. We are looking for a General Superintendent to join our team in Colorado Springs! The Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. The General Superintendent directly supervises foremen & field labor force, including laborers/craft workers. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. Other duties include but not limited to: daily reports, time cards, property management, inventory, public communication, ect; other duties may be assigned may be assigned. Requirements *Able to work 60+ hours per week *Verifiable professional and personal references *Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to random drug and alcohol tests *Valid driver's license with a clean MVR *Able to read, write and speak English Essential Duties and Responsibilities Jobsite responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervision of the actual physical construction of the projects in strict accordance with the contract documents; communication WITH THE ESTIMATOR AND CONTRACTOR, verification of safety compliance with all trades; maintenance and planning of reports, work-arounds, shutdowns and tie-ins; resolution of jurisdictional disputes; enforcement of safety and quality-control policies; direction and day-to-day coordination of trade contractors -- and their sub-contractors when required -- to ensure they turn out high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule; maintenance of satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc.; and the ability to work in a team environment with other Project Managers, Engineers and Superintendents. Education and Training *Degree related discipline *Experience can be supplemented for education *5+ years of experience on construction projects in a laborer and/or supervisor role. Skills, Knowledge, and Equipment *Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst 30+ subcontractors and vendors. *Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution. *Scheduling: review prior and current day, communicate schedule issues, ensure 60 hour work week for crews, job site time and noise restrictions, monitor weather / make call on job cancel or delay. Job Status: review time sheets, review material used or overruns, review trucking tickets, compare job to how it was bided, analyze notes for quality assurance issues, communicate / clarify discrepancies, know the end of-day status of the crews and the superintendent plan. *Communication *Being Present *Trouble shooting *Field Time *General Contractor Jobs *Job Sites and Crews *Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills. *Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
