I am rehoming a 10 year old DNA male Timneh African Grey I took in this boy a year ago from less than ideal conditions. He’s done so much progress and want to place him in a home that will continue efforts at giving him the home he deserves. He’s gone from a all-seed diet to being a great eater. He’s now used to spending time outside the cage, and he enjoy being held. He is still nervous about being pet and does not enjoy it whatsoever, but we’ve made progress on allowing me to touch his beak. He’s also a plucker— he improved so much last year but at the start of summer began plucking again. He’s now stopped and new pins are growing in and I”m making sure he gets more stimulation to prevent him from falling back to it. I am looking for someone to continue his trajectory. He’s a great bird. Relatively quiet. Talks, dances and a good bird. I would prefer he goes to a female caretaker as he is a little nervous around men but naturally flocks towards women. I had to earn his trust as a male, and I would want him to feel more at ease. I am rehoming him with his overlarge cage, with provides him alot of security.
