Description

Morning meditation @ Quail Hill Farm is free and open to the public, occurring 7 times over the course of the Summer. Whether you’re a beginner or decades long meditation practitioner, you’ll enjoy the 35 acres of peace and beauty of Quail Hill Farm as you practice seated (zazen) and walking meditation (basic instructions here) with local Zen buddhist practitioner Peter Corbett and fellow members of the community. Each session will be different, but will roughly follow this format: 5 min: welcome/instruction 10 min: of seated zazen2 min: of walking meditation 15 min: of seated zazen20 min: walking meditation10 min: closing conversationBring whatever cushion, chair or blanket that will allow you to comfortably sit in meditation. We recommend a setup that includes: A blanket or towel to cover the ground.A cushion to elevate you off the ground about 3-6 inches like this "zafu". Other options are to use a folded bed pillow, clothes bunched in a camping stuff-sack, a yoga bolster or anything else soft that will let you raise up off the ground a little. Location: Please see attached image. Park on Deep Lane and look for the small shady tree grove with a tree swing in it. Please arrive no later than 9am so we may start together on time. Please cancel your ticket via eventbrite if you no longer can attend. Please feel free to RSVP to as many of these as you like, and secure tickets for your friends/family. Finally - this event series is offered free of charge. If you feel compelled to offer a donation, please do so via the Participant + Donation ticket. 100% of all donations will go to support Quail Hill Farm.
