Blues/Jam Band/Funk players

Looking to jam with some people and eventually play some gigs. I'm 37, play guitar and consider myself intermediate. I know some music theory, but mostly I care more about what something feels and sounds like than studying the theory behind it. I like music that makes people want to dance, Blues, Jam band, funk, motown, that kind of stuff (not that I'm interested in dance haha, just that feeling). I'm definitely interested in more of an improvisational jam situation even though I really love a great song too. I've been a bedroom player. I'm at a point where I just want to jam with people and do some shows down the road though. Also, I've been a professional audio engineer for live bands and events for 10 years and know a lot about live audio systems. In Gresham but would travel anywhere in Portland.
