We are looking for someone who is honest, conscientious, reliable, works hard, pays attention to detail, shows initiative, and who is outgoing and friendly. * Must have some experience in landscaping, yard maintenance, and gardening. * Must know the basics about planting, fertilizing, pruning, weeding, watering, plant health, stonework, landscaping materials. * Must be interested in plants, trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, flowers, and yard design. * Must like working with dirt, soil, compost, mulch, leaves, sticks, branches, rocks, and stone dust. * Must know (or be able to learn) how to use hand tools for light yard work (leaf rake, garden rake, shovel, spade, pry bar, clippers, sifter, wheel barrow, garden cart, tarp, push broom). * It's physical work involving kneeling, bending, hauling, lifting, etc, sometimes in the sun, so be sure you like physical work and being outdoors. * This gig also involves general maintenance tasks in the yard and garage, which provide a variety of activities. We already have a Landscape Designer who makes the decisions. We already have a Landscaping Company in charge of Construction & Installation. We already have a Yard Service for mowing and blowing. This gig is more along the lines of Yard & Garden MAINTENANCE, being a hands-on CARETAKER. Great opportunity to do satisfying work with really nice people. DETAILS: TYPE: This is a gig, not a job. It's ongoing but part-time. Hours will vary. Some but little work in the winter. SCHEDULE: Any day of the week, during daylight hours. COMPENSATION: $25 per hour to start. BENEFITS: If we work a full day, we'll pay you during the meal break. TRANSPORTATION: Must have your own vehicle. LANGUAGE: Fluent English required. One of us uses hearing aids, and it's much easier to understand. TOOLS: Bring gloves, hat, long-sleeve shirt, jacket, and water. Tools provided. TEAM: One or two people is fine, three at the most.
