Description
One year old male Cattle dog/Australian mix (Texas heeler) in need of rehoming.
I am unfortunately unable to properly give this dog its proper life which is like on a farm somewhere. He would make an incredible working dog. He is highly intelligent and eager to learn. By nature he is bred to herd sheep by biting at their ankles. He is incredibly loving and sweet, often cat like with the way he puts himself all over you. He is very loyal and protective. He would also make a wonderful guard dog, with that being said he can exhibit aggressive tendencies at times to strangers and guests. In this situation I have had to muzzle him or leave him in a room. He is very territorial about being crated so I no longer bother crating him. He is a very good boy when he is left alone in the room and does not destroy anything. We have a small fenced in yard in lawrence, and it unfortunately is just not enough for him and his needs. I would so love to see him go to a proper handler, someone familiar with the breed or capable of handling a very strong dog with a lot of room to run and great at protecting property.
