Tickets: $10/person Aurum Son is a genre-defying musical quartet from Houston, Tx. This musical mash up blends global sounds with jazz, folk, and improvised music. While experimenting with new perspectives of old musical patterns, the group is committed to themes of space, alchemy, and the spirit-warrior journey. The group consists of Sonia Flores (bass, vocals), James Murphy (flute), Wilmer Gomez (drums/percussion), and Alfred Guiterrez (synth/auxiliary). Aurum Son is the recipient of Houston's Fringe Festival 2020, "Best in Show" award, and they can be heard on all major streaming platforms with their latest releases, "Thistle" and "Red Clover". Sonia Flores is an upright bassist and vocalist raised in Houston, TX. Flores is active in a diverse range of Houston artistic communities. To some, she is known for her intensely emotional and autobiographical songs, accompanied by her own double bass playing, and as a bass player, for her free jazz improvisational style, but also for her original songwriting.
