Hosted by Coach Joe Smith of Soccer Chance Academy in Portland. 1v1 is the most common and frequent tactical situation for players. 1v1 battles play out in all levels of soccer, from the professional to the beginning of youth soccer. These battles take place on all parts of the field throughout the game.Dominate the 1v1 - dominate the game!The art of individual possession dominance one of the most important aspects of the modern game. ‘Individual possession’ can be described as the actions players perform in receiving, retaining and progressing the ball. In the 'Building The Complete Soccer Player' Elite Soccer Camp, UEFA B licensed coach, Joe Smith, of the Soccer Chance Academy in Portland, will help players gain technical skills AND tactical understanding of individual possession. Coach Joe will use game and individual analysis to teach characteristics of a player skilled in individual possession: the player is comfortable in receiving the ball in small spacesthe player has a picture of what he is going to do with the ball before it arrivesthe player can recognise where the pressure is (in front, behind, from the side)the player has ‘solutions’ rather than just ‘moves’the player can use the body well to hide/protect the ballthe player knows when to show the ball to draw and outplay pressurethe player can use both feetthe player is unpredictable in his playthe player is confident, fearless and trusts himselfthe player has excellent balance and change of directionEach day will also start with a fun warm up with teams assigned. Joe is a highly sought after and gifted coach who has coached many world class soccer players, including Dele Alli of Tottenham Hotspurs and the England National Team. He is the current personal coach of Nike athlete and youngest ever female player to turn professional, Olivia Moultrie, of the Portland Thorns. PLEASE NOTE Come 15-20 minutes early for camp check-in. Players must bring their own ball.Players must bring their own snacks, stored in their own bag.Players must bring their own water. Enough for the duration of the camp hours.Parents should apply sunscreen before campers arrive to camp in the morning.Though we will have restrooms and hand washing facilities at the soccer fields, players should have their own supply of hand sanitizer stored in their own bag.Players are not required to wear face coverings. Parents to be on the alert for signs of illness in your children and keep them home when they are sick.
