At 44, he became one of five people ever named an honorary y Certified Guitar Player (C.G.P.) by his idol, music icon Chet Atkins (who called Emmanuel the "world's greatest finger-picker"). Today, he plays hundreds of sold-out shows every year from Nashville to Sydney to London. Two-time Grammy nominee Tommy Emmanuel is one of Australia’s most respected musicians. The legendary guitarist is renowned around the globe of his complex finger style technique, energetic performances, and the use of percussive effects on the guitar. Tommy’s unique style – he calls it simply “finger style” – is akin to playing guitar the way a pianist plays piano, using all ten fingers. Rather than using a whole band for melody, rhythm, bass, and drum parts, Tommy plays all that – and more – on one guitar.
