STRATFORD, CT — A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was destroyed and three people were displaced after a shed fire spread to a nearby duplex Friday night in Stratford. Crews responded to the 100 block of Vought Place around 11:30 p.m. on the report of a structure fire. "Under the command of Assistant Chief Reitmeyer, Engines 1, 2, 3, 4, Tac5 and Truck 1 responded with a total of 22 firefighters and 1 Safety Officer," Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Marshal Robert Daniel wrote in a news release. "On arrival, command reported a shed and two residences on fire. Fire suppression operated two 2-1/2'' exterior hose lines and two 1-3/4'' interior hose lines to extinguish the fire." Daniel said crews had the fire under control in 15 minutes. The 10x10 shed at the home along with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle inside was completely destroyed, according to Daniel. A nearby home's kitchen and attic were damaged by the fire, and another home sustained smoke damage, according to Daniel. Three adults were displaced by the fire and are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. The Bridgeport and Milford fire departments provided station coverage during the incident, according to Daniel. Daniel said the origin and cause of the fire is being investigated.
