District Arts & Education, the non-profit arm of District New Haven, is launching Summer DAEz, featuring two free month-long workshop sessions for students at the technology and innovation campus. Registration is now open for Intentional Websites: Making the Internet Work for You and Digital Storytelling & Content Creation. Students will attend a 4-week session with classes Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., participate in a project-based curriculum and may be able to earn high school credit. Registration for Session One (July 1, 2, and 6 through July 31) and Session Two (August 2 through 28) is available on the District Arts & Education website at: https://www.transformnhv.org/summer-daez . No previous experience or technology are required.
District Arts & Education, or DAE, is the non-profit arm of District New Haven. DAE is focused on equipping young people with real life, hands-on experience through creative learning infused with technology. The Summer DAEz program was made possible by the support of AccelerateCT Summer Program Innovation Grant and New Haven Innovation Collaborative, a founding partner of DAE.
"These workshops are a unique opportunity for motivated students to learn in a real-world environment and make connections to ideas and concepts that will benefit them as they pursue a career," said District Arts & Education Co-Founder & Executive Director Al Bhatt. "Our mission is to equip individuals with both the digital skills to enter the 21st century workplace, and the personal and interpersonal skills to transform those workplaces into more humane and sustainable systems."
